The Seafood Lover’s Guide to Trinidad and Tobago Restaurant Week

Restaurant Week is upon us, and we know you’re as excited as we are! Here’s a list of must-try seafood dishes and restaurants to find them.

Lemon Butter Fish

Crispy crusted white fish with panko and paprika spice in a creamy lemon butter sauce served with jasmine rice & house salad. Yummm! We already want seconds, and thirds…

Shrimp and Fries

At Restaurant week, there’s something for everyone, even the kids! Have your kiddies try this hand-battered, fried shrimp served with fries and honey mustard. Make memories, they don’t stay small forever.

Grilled Grouper with Chunky Seafood Sauce

Grilled grouper based with tarragon butter served with chunky shrimp, mussels, and calamari in tomato sauce. It’s got tomatoes, that’s healthy, right? So bring it on!

Visit J. Malone’s online to view more of its TTRW 2019 menu and to book your reservation.

Treasure of the Sea Risotto

It’s the Chef’s favourite dish, a mixture of shrimp, calamari, mussel, sautéed with onion, tomato, bell pepper and served with parmesan risotto.  I’d go through the maze for a dish like that and find the treasure on the other side.

Coconut Lobster & Shrimp

A combination of coconut, garlic, pimentos, onion, cream and wine, served with mashed potato and vegetables. Sounds like a perfect Trinidadian dish, don’t you agree.

Herbal Crusted Mahi Mahi

This is another must-try dish. Delicious Mahi Mahi fillet panko-crusted and topped with the Chef’s special Thai sauce, served with jasmine rice and fried cinnamon plantain. Did you know Mahi Mahi has a mild flavour, almost leaning toward sweet? It’s both healthy and yummy, packing a punch of protein, vitamin b-complex, potassium, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Our favourite part, this fish has a rich iron content that is easily absorbed by our bodies.

Salmon Sandwich

Bistro Di Rustica is a trendy Italian restaurant offering a wide array of classic Italian dishes alongside an all-day breakfast menu. Located in the east, they’re bringing the fancy to the masses. This sandwich comprises of smoked salmon, baby spinach, cucumber, cream cheese spread, dill, lettuce. Sounds like a recipe for a good time.

Seafood Pasta

Shrimp, mussels,  fettuccine, and marinara sauce. Personally, I’ve never come across a pasta dish I didn’t love. Pasta might as well be my middle name. Add that to delectable marinara sauce and I’m happy like pappi!

Bistro Di Rustica is located in Upper Level, Trincity Mall.

If you’re looking for something to do from September 20th – September 29th this is a fun, cost-effective way to try dishes from restaurants you may not have visited before. It’s also perfect to have your relatives and friends from foreign get a taste of our local cuisine and dining experience for much less than usual.
