What Career Is Right For Me?

You are unsure of the direction your career should take. You are having mind battles about changing your career path. You want to obtain a greater feeling of achievement in your current career.

You may fall into at least one of the aforementioned categories, and there is nothing wrong or strange about feeling this way. Ideally, we all desire to know our true calling in life from the get-go, but the harsh reality is that more than likely, it may not happen this way. Studies have shown that the average person is expected to change careers, on average, three times in their lifetime. What excites you? What are you passionate about? What energizes you?

A career is not something that should be randomly chosen, nor should you settle on “following your parents’ footsteps” if it is not the right fit for you.

What excites you? What are you passionate about? What energizes you? These are just a few questions that you should take the time to ask yourself before you establish yourself in a career. You want this to be something you absolutely love and enjoy. While we are on this point, it is safe to say now that one of the greatest signs that you are on the wrong path is if you detest even talking about your job. Just the thought of waking up early in the morning to go to your workplace makes you want to pull the sheet over your head and stay there.

While some may be of the view that being passionate and enthusiastic is not all that there is to a career, it undeniably plays a significant role, as this is what keeps you going when you are faced with rough days in the workplace.

As the good old saying goes – Do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life!
